MailingsSend a message to each lead from your audience sequentially, with a specified delay between each send. The broadcast does not go to everyone at once—messages are sent one by one.
Telegram limits a bot to approximately 30 messages per second. The broadcast is sent in waves with pauses, so a large database will not receive the message immediately—this is normal and protects the bot from being banned.
Understanding this mechanic is the primary defense against Telegram anti-spam restrictions. A Delay Between Messages that is too short can lead to a PEER_FLOOD error or general delays when sending any messages.
How sequential sending works
- Lead #1 will receive the message immediately after Start
- Lead #2 — in 60 seconds
- Lead #3 — in 120 seconds
- ...
- Lead #1000 — in approximately 16.6 hours.
The smaller the Delay, the faster the broadcast will finish, but the higher the risk of Telegram restrictions. The larger the Delay, the safer the sending process.
Supported formats
Format | What is supported | Limitations |
Text | Text message | Up to 3000 characters |
Media | Image or video with a caption (mp4/jpg/jpeg) | Caption up to 1024 characters (up to 20 MB file size) |
Document | PDF, DOC, ZIP and other files | Up to 50 MB |
Video Note | Telegram video note (round video) | Up to 1 minute |
Voice | Voice message (Ogg + Opus codec) | Based on Telegram limits |
You can use up to two consecutive messages in one broadcast. For example: an image with a short caption followed by a separate text message with an offer.
If you need a long warm-up scenario, use multiple broadcasts or a separate flow.
PEER_FLOOD and Telegram anti-spam
The PEER_FLOOD error occurs when Telegram considers the sending intensity suspicious.
Typical consequences:
- the bot temporarily stops sending messages
- a portion of the broadcast is not delivered
- regular user messages stop being delivered
- recovery can take from a few hours to several days.
Recommended Delay Between Messages
Audience size | Minimum allowed | Recommended |
Up to 100 leads | 15 sec | 30 sec |
100–1000 | 30 sec | 60 sec |
1000–5000 | 60 sec | 90–120 sec |
5000+ | 120+ sec | Split into parts |
Important
The values are very approximate. Factors affecting the risk of being blocked include: age of the Telegram account, history of previous restrictions, type of bot connection, time the broadcast is launched, identical text across a large number of messages.
Uniquify with AI
The Uniquify with AI feature creates several variations of the same message. The meaning is preserved, but the wording differs. This reduces the likelihood of Telegram anti-spam restrictions during large broadcasts.
How it works:
- specify the base text or prompt
- select the number of variations
- AI generates multiple wordings
- Chatterfy randomly distributes the variations among the audience.
Important
For broadcasts to 1000+ leads, it is recommended to always use Uniquify with AI. Sending identical messages in large volumes significantly increases the risk of restrictions from Telegram.
Schedule Sending
Schedule Sending allows you to schedule the launch of a broadcast for a specific date and time.
Useful if:
- the broadcast needs to be sent in the morning, but prepared in advance
- the broadcast is tied to an event or webinar
- the audience is located in a different time zone.
Critical
Schedule Sending time uses the bot's timezone, not the operator's local timezone. For example: if the bot operates in UTC and the operator is in UTC+3, a launch set for "10:00" will actually occur at 13:00 in the operator's local time.
When to use bulk messaging
Broadcasts are suitable for:
- re-engaging "dormant" leads
- notifications about your product updates
- promotional offers
- re-touching after a certain number of days following refusal or inactivity.
What is important to consider before launching
Critical
If Telegram imposes restrictions on the bot due to spam, it will affect more than just the current broadcast. Restrictions can impact: regular messages to users, AI Reply. A safe Delay is always better than the risk of the bot being blocked.
Important
Pause only stops future sends. Telegram does not recall messages that have already been sent to users. If a broadcast for 1000 leads was stopped after the first 50 sends: the first 50 messages will remain with the users, and the remaining 950 will not be sent.
Before Start, always check the text, audience, and settings via Review.
