Custom Filters in Messenger are team-wide saved filters available to all operators in the left sidebar.
They let you open ready-made chat segments in one click without manually configuring conditions each time.
Important: Custom Filters in Messenger are for using filters, not creating them.
In Messenger, operators only use filters that are already prepared.
When to use
- there are several operators on the team
- shared segments are needed for everyone
- managers work with different types of leads
- there are recurring daily selections.
Examples:
- “New leads”
- “VIP”
- “No manager”
- “FB traffic”
- “Non-responders”
- “Urgent”

How to use
Where to find them
Messenger → left sidebar → Custom Filters section. The filters are located under Chat Status.
How a filter works
Click the filter name — the chat list will immediately be narrowed down based on the saved conditions. Click it again to remove the filter.
What applying a filter does
After the click, Messenger:
- shows only matching chats
- applies saved conditions
- updates the list in real time.
The filter can include:
- Tags
- Status
- Assign
- Sale Stage
- Created At
- Custom Fields
- Tracker Fields
- Events
- Total Deposit
- any combination of conditions
Working together with tabs
Custom Filters work on top of tabs: All. My Chats. Favorites.
Example: you opened the My Chats tab and the VIP Leads filter. As a result, you will see only your chats with the VIP segment.
Combination with Smart Filters
This lets you quickly open a ready-made segment and then narrow the selection manually.
Example: first Custom Filter → “Facebook Traffic”. Then Smart Filter → Deposit > 1000. As a result: only Facebook leads with a deposit above $1000.
Where Custom Filters are created
This is where you configure:
- filtering conditions
- AND / OR logic
- operators
- Tracker Fields
- Tags
- Events
- Sale Stage
- dates
- deposit amounts
- and other parameters.
After saving, the filter automatically appears for the entire team in Messenger.
Custom Filters vs Smart Filters vs My Filters
The three filtering systems are often confused. Here is a brief comparison:
Type | Where stored | Who sees it | Where created |
Custom Filters | At the bot level | The entire team | Bot Settings → CRM defaults → Custom Filters |
Smart Filters | Not saved | Only the current user | Messenger → Filters |
My Filters | Locally | Only you | Smart Filters → Save Filter |
Main difference: Custom Filters
Shared team filters. Used for: sales departments, support, buying, shared segments.
Smart Filters
Filter builder mode. Used for: one-time filtering, complex searches, quick database analysis. If you do not save it, the filter disappears after closing.
My Filters
Operator’s personal saved filters. Used for: personal work, daily segments, quick selections. Not available to other employees.
Usage examples
Leads without a manager
Sales Lead creates a filter:
- Status is Auto
- AND
- Assign is empty
- AND
- Created At after 1 hour ago
Saves it as “Without a manager”. Now any operator can open the filter and quickly pick up new chats for work.
Urgent requests
Support Team creates a filter:
- Tag has urgent
- AND
- Status is not Finished
Now support sees all urgent conversations in one place.
Facebook traffic
Buyer Team creates:
- Tracker Field source = facebook
- AND
- Created At after 7 days ago
Now the whole team can quickly open only fresh Facebook traffic.
