Delays (
Bot Settings → Delays) is a section for configuring delays between a user's message and the bot's response.Delays help make the conversation more natural:
- the bot does not respond instantly
- the “typing…” effect appears
- AI responds with a pause
- messages look more “alive”
Without delays, users often immediately understand that they are communicating with automation. Properly configured Delays make the conversation feel more like talking to a person.

When to configure Delays
Delays are usually configured:
- right after connecting the bot
- before launching traffic
- if the bot responds too quickly
- if leads understand that they are communicating with AI
- when changing the AI model
- when configuring sales, support, or VIP scenarios.
How Delays work
Delays control:
- the waiting time before a response
- the speed of AI responses
- the speed of regular messages
- the “typing…” effect in
Telegram.
If a user sends several messages in a row, the bot does not respond to each one separately. It waits until the user has finished typing and only then starts processing.
Delays parameters
Parameter | What it does |
Response time from the lead | Wait time after the user's last message |
AI reply speed | AI reply speed |
Send message answer speed | Regular message speed |
Typing speed | Typing effect speed |

Response time from the lead
Response time from the lead — a pause after the user's last message before AI starts processing. If the user sends several messages in a row, the countdown starts after the last message.
This helps:
- avoid replying to every short remark
- wait until the user finishes their thought
- make the conversation more natural.
Typical values
Scenario | Recommended value |
Arbitrage | 60 sec |
Support | 10–15 sec |
VIP / Sales | 120–180 sec |
AI reply speed
AI reply speed — the approximate time after which the user receives a response from AI. It is used to configure the speed of AI replies. The higher the value, the more “human” AI looks and the slower the reply arrives.
Example
If Response time = 60 and AI reply speed = 120, then after the user's last message the bot:
- waits for Response time to end
- processes the request
- shows “typing…”
- sends the reply after approximately 120 seconds.
Send message answer speed
Send message answer speed — the response time for a regular step without AI. Learn more about the step: Send message — sending a prepared message.Used for messages without AI. For example:
- welcome messages
- auto-replies
- notifications
- pre-written texts.
Usually, shorter values are used here than for
AI Reply.Typing speed
Typing speed — the speed at which the “typing…” effect is displayed. The user sees the standard
Telegram typing indicator. The lower the value, the longer the “typing…” effect is displayed. The message is sent immediately after the delay ends. This is useful:
- for support
- FAQ bots
- technical scenarios
- quick auto-replies.

What to keep in mind
Excessive delays can reduce conversion. If the bot takes too long to reply, the user may lose interest, leave the conversation, or not wait for a response.
The “hotter” the lead, the faster the bot should reply.
For hot leads
It is better to use:
- short delays
- quick replies
- minimal pauses.
For VIP / Sales
A reply that is too fast may look suspicious. In such scenarios, longer Delays usually work better.
How to test Delays
- Message the bot.
- Send several messages in a row.
- Check whether the bot waits, shows “typing…”, and whether the speed matches your scenario.
Expected result
After configuring Delays:
- the bot responds more naturally
- AI looks less “robotic”
- messages arrive at the right speed
- the user is not spammed with separate replies
- the conversation becomes more like talking to a human.
If something is not working correctly
The bot replies too quickly
Check:
- Response time
- AI reply speed
- Typing speed.
The bot replies too slowly
Check:
- whether the values are set too high
- Delays for
AI Reply.
The user does not see “typing…”
Check Typing speed. The selected value may be too fast.
